King of Prussia Chiropractor: Dr. Stephen Marini

King of Prussia Chiropractor

Would you seek advice from the poor, homeless fellow on matters of wealth and security? You would certainly get an education on poverty and instability. Similarly, would you consult a medical doctor for advice on health and wellness? Your reply will generally be a poverty of health and wellness information. The objective and focus of medical practice is disease and infirmity. The objective of vitalistic approaches such as chiropractic is health and wellness. I acquired this wisdom during my medical training and paved my path away from medicine and toward chiropractic.

As a Villanova undergraduate, I nourished a passion for science, philosophy and spirituality. Those course directions led me onto a path through doctoral programs in medicine and the science of immunology as well as the catholic priesthood. During the 1970s those paths were separate and mutually exclusive. I believed however, that a marriage of my diverse career paths was not only possible but absolutely necessary for understanding and achieving overall health and well being. Mind-Body-Spirit in balance and in unity are essential for reaching the goal of optimum health and wellness. My paths merged when I arrived at chiropractic school and I left behind medicine and priesthood. Chiropractic has provided me with fulfillment in the marriage of the knowledge and wisdom of science, philosophy and spirituality. Realization of this fulfillment occurs in my daily chiropractic practice as well as my teaching internationally on the roles of psychology, spirituality and chiropractic on the immune and nervous systems and overall health of the individual

While earning my bachelor’s degree in biology at Villanova, I was mostly influenced by Dr. Lawrence Gallen, a priest and a virologist. He introduced me to the science and philosophy of another priest-scientist, Teilhard deChardin. The wisdom of these men directed me toward an appreciation of vitalism which is the role of energy and information on biology systems. From Villanova I acquired a Master’s degree in Immunology from Hahnemann Medical College, and a Ph.D. in Microbiology/Immunology from the Wistar Institute of the University of Pennsylvania and the Pacific Western University. Medical school training also took place at Hahnemann but my disillusionment with the non-vitalistic, disease focus of medical practice catalyzed my abandoning completion of the medical degree. Simultaneous with medical and research science programs was my preparatory courses for the priesthood. However, that course was not complementary to my goal of being a holistic health care provider. It was not until I became a Microbiology professor at the Pennsylvania Chiropractic College and began chiropractic philosophy courses that I realized a profession that embraced vitalism and health.

From the knowledge and wisdom acquired from my educational programs, I came to appreciate the role of the unity of a balanced body-mind-spirit in achieving optimum health and wellness. Chiropractic care and the chiropractic life-style which are provided at Marini Family Chiropractic are the most natural, simple and effective path in which to achieve optimum health and wellness. Although most patients seek chiropractic care for pain relief, I strive to first identify and remove the source of their pain and then move to educate and assist them into a lifestyle conducive to their achieving union with their body-mind-spirit. As an author, teacher and practitioner of the vitalistic concept of Psychoneuroimmunology, I incorporate and evaluate the therapeutic benefits of scientifically validated approaches in addition to chiropractic care to every patient who desires care beyond pain relief. Patients are taught the necessity of getting every family member, especially the newborn and the children, under care since patterns of spinal interference acquired at a very young age persist throughout life and progress into major pathologies later in life.

I met my wife Judith while moon-lighting as a blood bank technologist during my dissertation years. We have been married 31 years and enjoy living the farm and country life including formal garden tending, caring for horses, dogs etc. We also enjoy traveling during my teaching engagements in the US and abroad as well as following our daughter and son on their international musical tours. Our daughter Lauren is an accomplished equestrian and concert violist. She possesses a love for animals and has successfully completed a path in veterinary neurology and intends to teach, do research and function as a neurosurgeon. Our son Nicholas is an accomplished thespian and vocalist and has followed the career path of holistic health care by completing a doctor of chiropractic degree. You can meet Nicholas on this website. In addition to enjoying life on the farm, I enjoy playing and watching tennis, photography, scuba diving and traveling with the family.

Health wise, I adhere to the philosophy: “do not conform to the current age but transform yourself by the daily renewal of body, mind and spirit.” Daily walks, swimming, tennis, yoga and Qi gong exercises strengthens and stabilizes my weekly chiropractic adjustments. I remain current with the scientific literature in chiropractic, immunology and pediatric health care. Daily periods of meditation, contemplation and spiritual reading are essential parts of my day. Keeping my body at optimum function is necessary to support 2 chiropractic practices, travel and teaching as well as an active life-style. To that end, I get weekly chiropractic adjustments and bimonthly massages. My diet focuses on minimizing simple carbohydrates, eliminating sugars, refined and processed foods, and eating lots of vegetables, fruits, nuts as well as fish and chicken. I address specific health issues with natural supplements. I have lectured in the US and abroad for 20 years on the dangers of vaccinations and interferences that can affect the fetus and child’s immune and nervous systems. As president of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, I participate in the mission to educate, support research and provide chiropractic to all children. I accept the fact that every prescription drug has an adverse effect on health and I do exhaust all natural and non-invasive avenues with my patients before referring for invasive medications or surgeries.

I have found after 23 years in practice that by carefully listening to and evaluating the entire person, interferences and problems with the body-mind-spirit will surface and strategies of remediation implemented. So if you are interested in simple pain relief, health and wellness approaches for yourself and/or your family give our King of Prussia office a call, set up an appointment or e-mail me with your concerns and questions with the link below. I welcome the opportunity to participate in your journey to optimum health!
